Did you try increasing the ingame game speed?

Sorry I only saw this now...

Yes I increased the game speed but the system requirements must be more than my system has. Is there any way I could turn things off like HD graphics to speed it up?

Have you tried a google search of similar issues or even Steam forums? If its a common enough issues usually someone somewhere has already posted a few threads of similar things somewhere in the internet and its how I do most of my game troubleshooting.

There is an options menu in the main menu that contains video settings. Reducing the multisample, resolution, among other things may help. Does your computer meet either the recommended or minimum requirements and if so which one?
