Re: Who has the most powerful military?
btw, the string of pearls is just a line of communication. Do you really want to call that expansionism compared to what Europe was doing prior to WWII?

Re: Who has the most powerful military?
You think developing a blue water navy is to maintain communication?

Re: Who has the most powerful military?
doesn't really matter what it really is. Compare whatever you think it is to the U.S. foreign policy, and tell me again that's expansionism.

Re: Who has the most powerful military?
Do you think that the US policy of expanding our influence is equilivent to expanding our borders? Do you sen any parallels between 2010 and 1916? It's an interesting mix of paradoxes we have going at this moment in history and I have this sneaky susicion that it will be resolved by the Chinese central party in conjunction with the US Treasury. WW III will hapen but not a single shot will be fired and the change to the world will be more dramatic than what was seen after WWII.

Re: Who has the most powerful military?
Uhh, developing a Blue Water navy does not instantaneously mean, "zomg, their borders will be endless!". Just like how America has developed an 11 - 100,000 ton ship navy for the sake of "defense", does not instantly mean America is going to send those 11 ships around the world to ensure American Capitalism and American Centricism(even though that's what is happening right now). If you think about it, it doesn't matter how much DF-21D's you have, the best defense against a foreign invasion from a naval power is by a naval power, thus, a Blue Water fleet. But like Russia, you could use such a fleet to protect and secure Strategic Resources like Oil. That is not projecting your power, and thus, that is not Expansionism.
